Please note: Unfortunately, this masterclass has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Date: 12 & 13 September 2016

Venue: Broadway House, Tothill Street, London, SW1H 9NQ

Presenter: Professor John List, University of Chicago

Field experiments have emerged in the last decade as a mainstream methodology of enquiry into economic theory, as well as the gold standard for policy evaluation. Field experiments have been applied to study charitable giving, bidding behaviour in auctions, political campaigning, and tax compliance. Professor List has been at the forefront of the design of field experiments, studying issues ranging from sustainable management of forest resources to bidding behaviour in different auction formats, discrimination in labour markets and charitable giving. His work led to advances in the methodology of experimental economics, and has provided advances in our understanding of human economic behaviour.
