Funding

In 2012 the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), in partnership with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and HM Treasury (HMT), invited proposals for the establishment of an independent Centre for Research on Tax Administration. Tax Administration Research Centre (TARC) was established as a result of this call.

TARC has since developed into a global hub of research activity in relation to tax administration and expanded its activities beyond its initial brief, and is now funded solely by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
